The Carnival

The sounds and smells all worked together to make the whole place come alive. Something about the music emanating from all the rides made Victory feel glad to be where she was. The tantalizing smells of all the food vendors had her wondering what she’d try first. Children squealed as they zipped up and down on the roller coaster. Parents stood in lines to buy more ride passes and of course food. Victory watched as the Ferris wheel turned at the centre of the carnival. She loved to watch it but she preferred not to ride on it. The late summer sun was almost down and the many lights had begun to come on. There was a sense of home and peace here. Victory smiled as she walked among the many people that had come out to enjoy the evening. The carnival meant the end of summer which meant the start of her favourite time of year.
